I created this digital painting of Camila Cabello back in April 2017. This painting may look unfinished but that is what I like about it. As I was creating the progress shots I got to a point where I felt it was done. I may go back to it at some point in the future but I do like where it is at right now
I created the painting using the following equipment:
- Artrage – Digital painting program for Windows, Mac and tablet. I used the Windows desktop version of the software for this piece
- Wacom Intuos 4 Graphics Tablet – A graphics tablet is a “must have” item for desktop based digital art and Wacom has always been my weapon of choice.

Once the outline was solid I began to add the base colors – it is always a great feeling to see artwork take shape and that is what happens when you start to add color
Adding highlights and lowlights really starts to bring the piece to life by giving the artwork dimension
Hair can be very difficult to draw and I will admit that it is probably my weakest area within portraits. You still need a base color and can then start to add contour lines for the waves in the hair
So this was the final result and something I am
